Playing basketball at EBT

At EBT, you can enjoy basketball in a way that suits your personal goals and needs.

We aim to support each player individually – whether you’re aiming for a professional career or just looking for regular weekly exercise. EBT is here for both. You can try it out for two weeks with no commitment.

Activities for preschoolers – ”Tenavaputki”

EBT offers age-appropriate basketball activities for young children.
There are groups ranging from the ball club “Pallokerho” for children born in 2019–2021 to the “Pikkusudet” basketball school for kids born in 2018–2019.

Starting in August 2024, children born in 2017–2018 will have their own girls’ and boys’ teams. These teams practice twice a week and take part in various tournaments a few times per season.

Age group teams – from primary school onward

Players born between 2005 and 2016 can join our age group teams.

We offer both competitive teams for committed athletes and recreational groups for those playing just for fun.

The right team is chosen together with the player, head coach, and parents to ensure a supportive and development-focused environment.

Competitive teams provide an excellent opportunity to grow as a basketball player in a team that matches your skill level. These teams train 3–4 times a week under the supervision of the age group’s head coach. The goal is to help every player reach their full athletic potential. Teams play in multiple leagues and participate in tournaments to ensure plenty of meaningful game experience.

Recreational teams offer an affordable way to learn basketball fundamentals, with 1–2 practices per week. Coaching is typically led by an assistant coach in collaboration with the head coach. The focus is on learning basketball basics and enjoying physical activity. Recreational players can also play games in local leagues and join tournaments, if they choose. Attending in recreational training can also be done by being part of EBT’s Basketball School. Attending as a Basketball School player involves one practice a week but no games.

Multisport option – supporting diverse hobbies

EBT encourages children and youth to enjoy a wide range of sports.

With our special Multisport Membership, players who also participate in other demanding hobbies can still be part of the team.

The head coach works with the player and their parents to plan which practices and games fit their schedule. This membership is also more affordable, and typically includes two practices per week..

When I was young, I played both basketball and football until I was 11 or 12, with KäPa. I was also actively involved in dozens of other sports with my friends – from tennis to javelin throwing, from high jump to badminton. I tried it all.”

Adults – basketball school & recreational teams

EBT also offers opportunities for adults!

You can join our Basketball School to learn the basics of the game with no previous experience required. We also have several recreational teams for different skill levels, where adults can enjoy playing the sport they love in a team that suits them.
